U.S. College Info
It can seem extremely overwhelming as families begin to navigate the U.S. College system. The differences between the U.S. and Canada are vast, and there is a large amount of misinformaton circulating. Please use the resources below for the most up-to-date information available, and remember the following!
- Grade 9 DOES matter to the U.S.! Grade 9 marks count towards your player's GPA, so the Canadian thinking (only Grade 11 matters) needs to change early.
- Very few full-ride scholarships exist, even for the very best players. A combination of Athletic/Academic scholarships is usually required to reduce the cost of education. The higher a player's grades are, the easier they become to recruit, as Coaches understand their eligibility for higher Academic Scholarships, taking the pressure off the Athletic Scholarship budget.
